(From the Video Workshop Series on Pushing Past Your Past)
Forgiveness. It is an act that is spoken of and demonstrated throughout the Bible. It is one of the hardest things to do, and yet, if mastered, it is one of the most freeing things you can do for yourself.
In Chapters 3-5 of T. Suzanne Eller’s book, The Mom I Want to Be – Rising Above Your Past to Give Your Kids a Great Future, she talks about forgiveness in great detail. She delves into the subject of forgiveness as a foundation to healing and she goes all the way to discussing the barriers associated with forgiveness and unforgiveness.
This week’s video workshop lessons speak specifically to the issue of forgiveness. Learn about what being willing to forgive entails and what forgiveness is and what it isn’t.

Straight from My Heart:
The ability to forgive is achievable through Christ. In fact, to forgive in the way that Christ forgives us is one of the pillars of a Christ-like love. If you are struggling with the issue of forgiveness, or rather unforgiveness, pray to the LORD God and ask Him to crucify your unforgiving heart and to birth within you a forgiving heart in its place.

I learned a lot from your experience as a forgiver and I must confess that forgiving is really not an easy task. As a pastor I have been teaching on the power of forgiving based on biblical examples such as Joseph, Jephte who suffered from family turmoil.
But as born again Christians we need to have the feeling that Jesus had because he overcame frustrations and all kinds of emotional conflicts.
Today an intensive conflict has torn away the social tissue in my country, Cote d’Ivoire but we need to forgive in order to move forward.
May God Bless
