Living in this world can be extremely hard. It’s hard because of many things – people, circumstances, expectations, injustices, and so much more. It can be especially hard for the person who is trying to live a life that is well-pleasing to the Lord. But even with all things considered, the Christian has been afforded a unique opportunity to better appreciate the power and the presence of God. It’s all in how you choose to look at a situation.
Christians often find themselves placed in situations so far removed from who they are and who they desire to be in the Lord. They struggle with the whys and the why nots of their circumstances. They battle with whether or not, dare I say, God knows best. After all, they have volitionally chosen to give up who they once were for who they should and can be in the Lord. Shouldn’t things go well? Unfortunately, when an onslaught of negativity and mental, emotional and spiritual assaults are zeroed in on the “righteous” person, many fail to see the uniqueness that they have been afforded. They fail to see that what they have to deal with is a grand opportunity to witness God’s own hand in deliverance.
Psalm 46:10a offers comforting words for the weary and battle worn. The scripture says, “Be still, and know that I am God.” Today, I want to emphasize those words to those who are struggling through their situations. I want to encourage each and every one of you to focus your attention on the power and the presence of God. Allow Him to do a mighty work and to bring about the change He wants – in His way, in His time, and in His will. Give God total control over your unique and unusual circumstance and KNOW THAT HE IS GOD.
