Back in December, The Phone Tree Bible Study Group presented 31 Days of Praise on Twitter and Facebook. Each day, positive praise points, inspirational messages and/or promises from the Word of God were tweeted, as well as posted for all to see. It was a huge success for God. And even after it ended, the praises continued to flow from followers, both near and far.
A wave of excitement was generated. The name of the LORD was proclaimed. The glory of the LORD was revealed. The greatness of God was declared.
Even with all that was said and shared among believers and non-believers alike through the two social networking mediums, I realized that it will never be enough praise for our God. Our God is due a thousand hallelujahs. A million hallelujahs. And still more.
Psalm 96 speaks of a pure truth that should be the present reality of every Christian. It encourages us to take part in a celebration of praise to the LORD.
Every opportunity that you and I are given should be about blessing God. It should be about exalting Him and lifting Him up with praise. One word is not enough. One song is not enough. One person is not enough. A thousand hallelujahs are not enough. Still, sing! Sing a brand new song and worship the LORD with infinite hallelujahs. Glory to His name!
A Psalm of Praise
“Sing God a brand-new song! Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to God—worship God!
Shout the news of his victory from sea to sea,
Take the news of his glory to the lost,
News of his wonders to one and all!
For God is great, and worth a thousand Hallelujahs.
His terrible beauty makes the gods look cheap;
Pagan gods are mere tatters and rags.
God made the heavens—
Royal splendor radiates from him,
A powerful beauty sets him apart.
Bravo, God, Bravo!
Everyone join in the great shout: Encore!
In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might.
Bring gifts and celebrate,
Bow before the beauty of God,
Then to your knees—everyone worship!
Get out the message—God Rules!
He put the world on a firm foundation;
He treats everyone fair and square.
Let’s hear it from Sky,
With Earth joining in,
And a huge round of applause from Sea.
Let Wilderness turn cartwheels,
Animals, come dance,
Put every tree of the forest in the choir—
An extravaganza before God as he comes,
As he comes to set everything right on earth,
Set everything right, treat everyone fair.”
