Formal Attire: Clothed in Christ

(A Message based on Kelly Minter’s book, The Fitting Room: Putting on the Character of Christ )

“Our dress is an expression of ourselves, a statement of our personalities or moods. But what about the dress of our souls? What about the way our character clothes us?”Kelly Minter

Clothing oneself in the character of Christ, what does it entail? Formal attire or informal attire? Dressy or casual? Spiritual or moral? Inward man or outward man? Hmmm…

According to Kelly Minter, addressing the question of character begins with the heart, and it involves the matter of virtues. Minter cites Colossians 3:9-10, 12 as the foundation to begin construction on a “formal garment” in Christ.
