UNLEASHED by Erwin McManus

A Phone Tree Book Review

Unleashed – Release the Untamed Faith Within by Erwin McManus is an incredible book that has the potential to shake up and wake up any Christian.

The barbarian message spoken of so intricately by Mr. McManus was simple, precise, and poignant. In fact, it is best summed up with these words, “The barbarian way is a journey that discovers the power of an untamed faith. You don’t need to go find faith; you need to unleash it. In fact, everything that is good or beautiful and true that you will spend your entire life searching for is simply waiting to be set free through a life that follows Christ with reckless abandon.”

Unleashed challenged me to consider how I view the Christian faith. It also confronted me, causing me to examine and deeply reflect on my perception of Christ and the actions of those who would call themselves Christians. Mr. McManus’ book never ceased focusing on the barbarian way.

From his warrior cry to his call to arms, Mr. McManus’ revolutionary message insisted on the Christian disciple having an undomesticated, uncivilized, raw, primal, and untamed faith.

Anyone who reads this book is sure to walk away impacted. Whether one’s mind is open or closed, the message in this book will affect the reader in some capacity.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is courageous enough to take a bold step of faith off the charted course and who is ready to passionately step onto a path of reckless abandonment in Christ.
