(A Message based on Francis Chan’s book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God)
“The lives of many people who call themselves ‘Christians’ in America lack manifestations of a vital and active faith.”
– Francis Chan, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God
Table Talk: What would you do if God instructed you to give up everything for Him? Could you do it? Would you even be willing to consider it? What if He called you to live out the faith you profess by doing a radical act or by engaging in an impossible feat that could only be realized by trusting Him? Sadly, many Christians get lost in the translation of faith, living just shy of trust and surrender. They waver between having an active faith and an inactive faith.
Reflections: Faith requires many things – love, trust, hope, total surrender and so much more. It urges one to be willing, to give up on the familiar and cling to the unfamiliar. God calls His children to believe in Him and to have unwavering confidence in His power. This is the essence of faith.
Table Talk Discussion Question: Is your faith an active faith or an inactive faith? Discuss.
