A Phone Tree Review: The Jodi Woody Collection

Savage LoveBook Releases from New Author Jodi Woody

About Savage Love: “Daffyd thought that he had it all, fame and fortune, good looks, and the life he had always dreamed of. Now, at thirty the only thing remaining is the money. He has lost his family, his health, his good looks and his faith in God. Living as a recluse in the Mountains of Montana he has given up on life. Samantha is thirty-five and recently widowed. Spending the last fifteen years in a marriage of convenience, to a man almost twenty years her senior, she now doesn’t even know who she is. It seems that her life had been on auto pilot, and though dreams of another life, she can’t seem to find the way. Samantha has two things that keep her going, her daughter and her faith. Savage Love is a story of love, hope and new beginnings. When two lives come together, seemingly by chance, both are transformed.”

Phone Tree Review: Savage Love was such a wonderful story. I found that once I began reading it,  I did not want to stop. I had to know what would happen. I fell in love with the characters and even found myself crying for the each of them at one point or another. The struggles, doubts, emotions and spiritual challenges that the characters all faced in their individual faith walks were easy to relate to and caused me to deeply reflect. I loved how Scripture was weaved into the story and how wisdom was sprinkled throughout the pages of this book. This sweet romance will surely touch your heart and influence the way you look at your faith. (This review was written from a storyline perspective only. It should be noted that this book contains GS errors, which might deter some readers.)

Unplanned Love: Sequal to Savage Love

About Unplanned Love: “Through the marriage of Seanna’s mother and Bryce’s uncle, the two college kids have become as close as any brother and sister. Both raised as only children, they finally have the siblings they have always longed for. But, sometimes love can bloom in the most unexpected places. Unplanned Love continues the story of the characters from Savage Love. This story of love and family reminds us of the importance of unconditional love and acceptance.”

Phone Tree Review: Unplanned Love is the sequel to Savage Love, and as such it serves to continue the storyline associated with those I like to call “The Savages.” In this particular story, readers get to take a closer look into and at the lives of Seanna and Bryce. These two characters essentially learn how to face the ups, the downs, and the in-betweens associated with a relationship in the making. A few new secondary characters are introduced; some of them, you will like and some…not so much.

This book had a lighter flow related to the use of Scripture when compared to book one. Still, I like that there were references to and examples about serving others, living firmly with your faith conviction, practicing a chaste lifestyle, and moving toward your “new,” forgiven self. (This review was written from a storyline perspective only. It should be noted that this book contains several GS errors.)
