CLING| Now Available!

Good morning and blessings to all!

By now, you may well have heard the news – CLING by Kim Cash Tate is now available. This is exciting news for many reasons. Not only will you now have access to this amazing Bible study, but you will also get to take part in a Phone Tree featured reflection walk with me.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my heart’s response and my own transparent convictions about how Kim’s words and lessons affected me. In sharing with you, I will hold nothing back. It is my hope that through this exercise of openness and honesty, others seeking a “lifestyle of intimacy with God” will be encouraged to do the same. Just as Kim’s very real truths impacted me and showed me the more of wanting and knowing God, I pray that you also will be impacted and want the more of knowing God.

Phone Tree Book Review:

CLING: Choosing a Lifestyle of Intimacy with God by Kim Cash Tate is a Bible study that will meet you where you are and take you where you want to go. The appeal of this book lies in its invitation to know God; but really, it’s more than that. With Scripture-rich points and narrative vignettes, Tate extends her hand and leads readers toward the One who knows them best. For those ready for and/or needing more, this book will do much to propel you forward, to urge you further, and to ground you deeper.

The HOSEA Intensive|Valued

A Phone Tree Bible Study Series based on HOSEA: Unfailing Love Changes Everything by Jennifer Rothschild

“Because Hosea valued her, she began to feel her own value. She was no longer known as ‘Gomer the prostitute.’ She was known as ‘Gomer, the chosen bride.’ Her identity had changed; her life was changing.”

In Real Time: While no one can ever really know just what Gomer was thinking or telling herself way back when, I’m sure we can each certainly see parts of ourself in her story and experiences. We can see the conflict that existed between choosing to do the right thing versus the wrong thing. We can see the struggle that she may have had to accept her new self when her tendency might have been to find comfort in her old self. On the outside looking in, we can see possibilities and relational strengths where she may have only been able to see unworthiness and shame.

Moving beyond the negative labels and names that we write on our lives and hearts can be difficult. Changing our mindset and attitude can be a challenge. More than that, accepting that we are worthy, only in Christ, is… (you finish that).

But what if we did begin to see ourselves as chosen? What if we did begin to see ourselves as valuable? What if we did allow God’s words about us to be written, carved, and etched on our lives?

3 Questions:

1) What labels or names have you given yourself over the course of your life? Are they positive or negative? (Spiritual Life Fitness Challenge: Explore your past and identify what labels or names others have used to define you. Did what they say about you or to you shape the way you think about yourself?)

2) Which is easier, to see yourself as a prostitute or to see yourself as a chosen bride?

3) If you are in Christ, what does the LORD say about who you are in Him?

The HOSEA Intensive|Prosperous but Bankrupt

A Phone Tree Bible Study Series based on HOSEA: Unfailing Love Changes Everything by Jennifer Rothschild
“…financially prosperous, but…spiritually bankrupt.”

In Real Time: Prosperous and yet bankrupt…those words really resonate. They ring like a mighty gong inside my head. How can one be well off and flourishing while at the same time be lacking and without?

At one point or another in our lives, we all come face to face with this reality, both in the physical and spiritual sense. On the surface or according to the measure of what man sees as success, we live a life of plenty, of abundance, where we have “all that we need.” Underneath all the pomp, however, many of us struggle. We struggle against that which is based in the carnal within us. Inside, for many, there exists a voracious appetite for more

3 Questions:

1) Can you honestly say that you are satisfied and content with your life at present?

2)  Can God ever be enough for you or are you searching for something more outside of Him?

3) How do you measure success, prosperity, abundance and satisfaction?

The HOSEA Intensive|Prone to Wander

A Phone Tree Bible Study Series based on HOSEA: Unfailing Love Changes Everything by Jennifer Rothschild

“We’re all a lot like Gomer – prone to wander. Maybe not unfaithful in marriage or other relationships, but we are all prone to wander from God and our identity in Him.”

In Real Time: The words that Jennifer speaks are not foreign to me. I know all too well how easy it is to wander away from the One I desire to be closest too.

How quickly we tend to lull ourselves into a false sense of intimacy with God. We say we want Him and yet out loud, we shun Him, we reject Him, we choose another over Him. When that dreadful thing happens, we put ourselves at risk. We put ourselves on dangerous ground. As such, we forget who we are in Him. And where there is no identity in Him, there is no sense of trueness. There is only a lost, wandering, wondering soul.

3 Questions:

1) Have you ever left God in order to pursue another?

2) How did you feel when you separated yourself from God?

3) What, if anything, brought you back to God after your season of wandering? (Are you still there, in the place of wandering?)

The HOSEA Intensive

A Phone Tree Bible Study Series based on HOSEA: Unfailing Love Changes Everything by Jennifer Rothschild

Hi All!

Over the next few days and weeks, I will be engaging in a Bible study intensive. I will be focusing much of my attention and posts on the book of Hosea. I love that story so much! It speaks to life in such a profound way. Profound, in truth, is what I really, really need right now. In fact, I need an intense, deeply penetrating, in-depth, dig-into-the-Word study that allows me to experience God anew and then even beyond that. (#truth15…it’s an accountability thing, y’all)

I invite you to dialogue with me or to comment, as you feel, in response to my #HOSEAintensive shares. Please know that I will be writing in real time and that my posts will come as they need to, meaning that there is no set schedule.

I send you sincere Christ-love from my heart, and I pray that God will delight you today and every day. Stay close to Him, guys. Don’t stop running!
