“Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good
for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace
to those who hear.”

Ephesians 4:29 (NASB)*

EDIFY 1 is a ministry of encouragement.

The word you share might benefit another, encourage spiritual progress, be a blessing and/or give grace to those who hear it.

Would you like to share an encouraging word, blog post, affirmation, song, poem, Scripture or lesson with us?

  1. Happy New Year! Let’s start 2016 with Psalm 119 in mind. Read it, reflect on it, continuously refer back to it, and allow God to speak to your heart through it.

  2. May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]! – Ephesians 3:17-19 (AMP)

  3. Proverbs 3:5-6The Voice (VOICE)

    5 Place your trust in the Eternal; rely on Him completely;
never depend upon your own ideas and inventions.
6 Give Him the credit for everything you accomplish,
and He will smooth out and straighten the road that lies ahead.

  4. “Sometimes the fear of failure steals the beauty we were meant to create.”
― Angie Smith, What Women Fear: Walking in Faith that Transforms

  5. Suzanne Eller is hosting a wonderful series on her blog called “30 Days to Intimacy with Jesus.” It is very encouraging. Her words and insight are soothing.
    1) Learn what it means to create moments of sanctuary.
    2) Identify the key to filling up spiritually.
    3) Experience the beauty that can be found in being still.

  6. Thank you for following EFED. I pray it will be a blessing to your heart as we encourage each other with God’s word. I look forward to sharing more with you in the future. God Bless you.

  7. I know, I know, another award and a lot of hard work. So really, if you don’t want to do it I completely understand. I may quit after this one myself.

But I just want you to know that I do truly enjoy reading your blog posts and they make me smile, warm my heart, and make me really think too! You do a great job and even if this email is all you read, just know that I appreciate all you do on your blog!

  8. “Everything I have, everything I am, and every good part of me exists because of the unbelievable grace of God. His grace is truly epic.” – Kurt Bubna (Epic Grace)

  9. In 2012 I published a book entitled “Sweet Scent of Justice.” It is a faith-based, true crime book about my sister, Kathy’s murder that happened in 1981. In 2006 God allowed us to bring her killer to justice in a most unusual way. My book focuses on the faith that my family had during the time of her death and also the years we searched for her killer. It also focuses on the forgiveness that we share for her killer. In March of this year my story was the focus of an episode on the show, “On the Case With Paula Zahn.” God has really opened many doors to allow me to share my testimony on a nationa level. I would love to send you a copy of my book to review. You can find more information about my story at debbiewilson.org.

  13. How did Christ encourage those around Him?
    He loved.
    He served.
    He prayed.
    He healed.
    He shared.
    He taught.
    He saw.
    He heard.
    He responded.
    He fellowshipped.
    He admonished.
    He humbled Himself.
    He forgave.
He was who God had declared Him to be.
And so, you shall do these things as well.

  14. Over the recent weeks, many loved ones and dear friends have faced hardships and attacks unlike anything I’ve ever seen. From bad health reports to infidelity to a lack of honor in what should be considered a binding agreement, it has been unsettling. I am reminded by the Holy Spirit, however, that God is greater. He is greater than any hardship and bigger than any attack that we must face or deal with.
The Almighty is healer. He can write a good report over any bad one. God is merciful. He not only forgives our unfaithfulness, He also encourages us to forgive ourselves. God is honorable and good. He embodies that which is steeped in integrity.
If you are reading this, just know that God will never leave you or forsake you. He is love and His love can overcome any odds.

  15. Everything by Mary DeMuth is an incredible book. It is truly a one-stop shop of inspiration and enlightenment. Written in a testimony-teaching style, this book shines a light on the power, presence and influence of the LORD on lives that are in pursuit of Him. To say I loved this book would be an understatement. It’s very special.

  17. Quite often as we face a new day, a new moment, a new place, or even new people, we tend to find within ourselves a number of questions. Stray thoughts that linger, causing us to think more deeply or consider more thoroughly the things of life, stay on our minds. It is with this in mind that the following blog posts are rendered.

  19. This morning, as I face this incredible God-blessed day, I am ever mindful of just how much we need the LORD. We need Him more than that which we think we need and can’t do without – social media, titles and acclaim, that go-along-and-get-along job or relationship. We need Him more than our greatest desire. And to need Him more than anything else is the beginning of being changed in the spirit.

    – Renewal 2012

  20. How are you doing? Are you growing? Being encouraged? Living well in Christ? Prayerfully, you are well, you are being edified daily and you are growing abundantly in grace.

This month, I decided to list a few deep thought blog posts from some of my favorite authors. Their messages just might resonate with you and stir up what is inside of you.

    Blessings and Love,

  21. Over the last few months, I have engaged in a personal spirit-to-Spirit restoration and rebuilding process, allowing God to deconstruct me and build me from the inside out. I have had to face the crumbling structures in my life, the relationships that were not firmly grounded, and the wreckage of “old” foundations that were hazardous to my spiritual health. I have been led into deeper and deeper conversations with the LORD during this temple building process. But my temple building continues…still. I am now in a boot camp of sorts, or that’s what I like to call it. 🙂 I share this with you all as part of the Spirit-ual Fitness program I am engaged in. God has called me to go to the extreme for Him. To give up my something for His bigger everything. And it is this that I want to encourage you in. Be willing to give up (surrender) your something for God’s bigger everything. Let Him construct a beautiful temple called YOU, built on the foundation of Christ.

    Taking Courage in the Spirit,

  22. “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19

  23. “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, since you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58

  24. Did you know that there are tons of messages all around us? They are meant for our learning. They help us to find reason, gain clarity, and comprehend that which may be difficult to understand. With that in mind, I call your attention to the following quotes. I pray that they speak to you right where you are.

    Love you in Christ,

“Maybe God is bigger than even our trials and failures. And maybe He can take the broken pieces of us, that don’t even look like an offering, and make something beautiful.” – Mary DeMuth (http://www.marydemuth.com/2012/02/we-cant-see-our-growth-when-we-grow-the-most/)

“…the hard does not minimize His goodness but allows us to experience His goodness in a whole new way.” – Katie Davis (http://kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com/2012/02/healer-god.html)

“Bounce back after a setback.” – Valorie Burton (http://youtu.be/ZBXec_-COdQ)

  25. There is nothing quite like the Word of God. It is our constant source of knowledge and strength, and it is our wellspring of hope. As such, please know that I am praying for you, even now. I am praying that you would achieve the impossible through Christ. It is my hope that Matthew 17:20-21 would inspire you to move mountains.

“For truly I say to you, if you have faith [that is living] like a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to yonder place, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”

May you walk in the Light always and know the gracious touch of our Father all the days of your life.

    Praying Without Ceasing,

  26. So many things are happening in each of our lives on a daily basis. It’s important that we take time to consider the lessons we are being shown.

“…even all whose spirit God had stirred…” – Ezra 1:5 (ASV)

Allow God to stir up your spirit. Prepare for a rebuilding of your temple in 2012.

  28. Have you faced any unexpected challenges as of late? Have you endured a season of struggle or a moment of heartbreak? Have you learned any hard lessons? If you have felt any of the aforementioned or can relate to them in some way, then the following posts may be just what you need. May these messages encourage you in your now moment.
