CLING| Now Available!

Good morning and blessings to all!

By now, you may well have heard the news – CLING by Kim Cash Tate is now available. This is exciting news for many reasons. Not only will you now have access to this amazing Bible study, but you will also get to take part in a Phone Tree featured reflection walk with me.

Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my heart’s response and my own transparent convictions about how Kim’s words and lessons affected me. In sharing with you, I will hold nothing back. It is my hope that through this exercise of openness and honesty, others seeking a “lifestyle of intimacy with God” will be encouraged to do the same. Just as Kim’s very real truths impacted me and showed me the more of wanting and knowing God, I pray that you also will be impacted and want the more of knowing God.

Phone Tree Book Review:

CLING: Choosing a Lifestyle of Intimacy with God by Kim Cash Tate is a Bible study that will meet you where you are and take you where you want to go. The appeal of this book lies in its invitation to know God; but really, it’s more than that. With Scripture-rich points and narrative vignettes, Tate extends her hand and leads readers toward the One who knows them best. For those ready for and/or needing more, this book will do much to propel you forward, to urge you further, and to ground you deeper.

When Others Want…

When others want to write the wrong words on the pages of your life, remember what the LORD says…

You are:

– Fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)

– Made in His image (Genesis 1:27)

– The apple of His eye (Psalm 17:8)

– New (2 Corinthians 5:17)

– Forgiven (Colossians 1:13-14)

– Loving and prayerful (Matthew 5:43-48)

Raise Up This Child

Dearest Father,

Raise up this child so that he might know and revere You.

Raise him up that he might stand for what You stand for.

Nourish him that he might be strong for You, willing to confidently go and profess Your name to the masses.

Gift him with the ability to see Your vision and to execute Your plans.

Grow him in the ways of knowledge, wisdom, insight, and understanding.

Remove all fear from his life and rid his path of ungodly obstacles that mean him harm.

Raise him up to not only recognize Your voice, but also to heed Your voice.

Help him to discover You in all things and to be in awe of Your touch of grace on all creation.

Raise him up to be a holy man of God, a faithful follower of Christ and a Spirit-infused student of the Word.

Guide and instruct him on the ways of pure and true worship and praise.

Cover him with Your love and let that love from You extend outward.

Raise up this child so that he might not back down from the fight ahead of him – a world gone chaotic, where bad is perceived as good, where ideals are traded for idols, and where the voices of the depraved strike out against any and all things that are in line with Your truth.

Raise him up to witness to a generation and people who need hope, have lost hope, and are constantly praying to You about the hope found in Christ.

Teach him about the blessing of surrender.

Grant him with a heart to serve and to give and live like Christ.

Raise him up!

I speak this over every child, in every family, in every place, in every circumstance. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

BEWARE|Poison In, Poison Out

What if we taught this lesson – BEWARE…Poison In, Poison Out – daily to every person we encountered? Do you think their lives would be the better for it? And what of your own life, do you think you would be the better for having to learn this lesson?

A.M. Scripture Reflection: 1 Thessalonians 5:22

A.M. Spirit-to-spirit Thoughts: What you pour into yourself, what you feed yourself, what you expose yourself to, it all comes out in one way or another. If good goes into your mind and your heart, that is what will come out, but if bad, unfruitful, negative, unedifying things go in, what comes out but that which is unholy.

Spiritual Life Fitness: Read the entire fifth chapter of 1 Thessalonians. Write down each instructive lesson that you find.

Spiritual Fitness Challenge: Pray to God and reveal all those things that you need His help to abstain from. Be courageous enough to commit to praying about this matter until it no longer has a hold on you.

My #LIVEFREE Prayer (Ephesians 3:17-19)

deckocean

Father,

May Christ, through our faith, dwell in our hearts and make His permanent home in our beings. May He, LORD, be rooted so deeply and founded so securely that we exist in an ever-constant state of love. Let us fully grasp what is the breadth and length and height and depth of what that love is all about. May He have power and strength over us. Expand our knowledge, LORD, and fill us with all the fullness of Your Being.

In the name of Jesus. Amen.
