LOVE ONE ANOTHER

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should also [unselfishly] love his brother and seek the best for him.” – 1 John 4:20-21

Challenge for Your Upcoming Week: Engage in a word study on love. Make sure that you differentiate the various types of love uncovered. See what the Bible says about love. Write down examples of what may have been and/or is required of someone who loves others. After you have completed your study, do some self-examination. Ask yourself whether or not you love others as the LORD requires.

In Every Situation…

In every situation, the LORD your God can give you strength. In every situation, you can take courage from Him. In every situation, He can give you power and love and soundness of mind.

Challenge and Encouragement for Your Day: Allow the LORD to have total reign over your heart, your life, your issues, and your storms. Understand that there is hope and deliverance in Him alone. Rest assured that He will be present in every one of your situations. Remember that there is nothing that is too hard for God to deal with in your life.

Resolve Yourself to a Holy Transformation

Challenge for the Week: Spend some time reading, dissecting, reflecting upon, and applying Romans 12.

Remembering What’s Important

Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

THINK, PRAY, DO: The Three “Be” Actions of a Present-Day Disciple

THINK:

Matthew 19:16-22

PRAY:

Father and Most Holy God, we humbly approach Your throne of grace. We are so thankful for Your presence. Please give us, on this day, that which You have prepared for us. Help us to receive the abundant portion with grateful hearts. Help us to properly digest the spiritual nourishment. Help us to live honorably, just as Jesus Christ did. Help us to live grounded in love, being focused on righteous living and being understanding of how we are to treat our brothers and neighbors. Help us to go out and “feed” the world for Your glory. Help us to be unselfish with that which is given. Please continue to teach us to be more concerned about the things You are concerned about and to care less for the things of the world. Help us to love You more and to choose You first, last, and always. In the name of Jesus, this prayer is offered. Amen.

DO:

Be prayerful.

Be in pursuit.

Be perfected.
